Viewing Instructions
1.  To view a Database on your handheld, select the Town Compass® DataViewer icon () from the Home Screen of your handheld. The Town Compass® DataViewer will open. Click here for the handheld Home Screen visual guide.

2.  The Database Cover Page will appear. Tap anywhere on the screen or click on a scroll button to bring up the Database Home Page with the list of available Subjects. Click here for the Database Cover Page visual guide.

3.  Choose a Subject from the Database Home Page list. A pop-up menu will appear with a list of Category choices. Click here for the Database Home Page visual guide.

4.  Select a Category from the pop-up menu list, then select a SubCategory from the secondary pop-up menu list. The Listings Page - Category Selection will appear. Click here for the Listings Page - Category Selection visual guide.

5.  A scrollable list will appear in the viewing area of the Listings Page. Tap on a name in the list to open the Details Page - Record Data. Click here for the Listings Page - Record Selection visual guide.

6.  The Details Page - Record Data includes the record's individual information and special DataViewer features. To make a new selection from the previous list of records, select the "Back" button. Page By Page
1.  Handheld Home Screen: DataViewer appears as a red Town Compass® icon.

2.  Database Cover Page: Main graphic cover design for the Database.

3.  Database Home Page: Contains Hierarchical Table of Contents, Product Title Graphic, Global Find Search, Infrared Beaming, Multiple Database Menu, and access to Fingerpoint® Index Page, About Screen, & Database Deletion.

4.  Listings Page - Category Selection: Contains Hierarchical Table of Contents Subject, Category and SubCategory Listings, Database Home Page button, Global Find Search, Infrared Beaming, Multiple Database Menu, and access to Fingerpoint® Index Page & About Screen.

5.  Listings Page - Record Selection: Contains SubCategory Record Listings, Graffiti™ Quick-Find Autoscroll, Database Home Page button, Global Find Search, Infrared Beaming, Multiple Database Menu, and access to Fingerpoint® Index Page & About Screen.

6.  Details Page - Record Data: Contains Record Information, Back button, Database Home Page button, Global Find Search, Infrared Beaming, and access to Fingerpoint® Index Page & About Screen.

7.  Fingerpoint® Index Page: Alphabetical cross-referencing system allows user to quickly access desired SubCategory information in the Hierarchical Table of Contents.

8.  About Screen: Contains File Versions, Copyright Info, Company Name, ISBN Number, and access to Legal Terms & Conditions.

DataViewer Features
1.  Font Setting Options: Switch text to Palm OS® system default font and/or make text larger.

2.  Global Find Search: Keyword search through the entire Database.

3.  Graffiti™ Quick-Find Autoscroll: Enter letter or number in Graffiti™ area of handheld while in the Listings Page - Records Selection or Fingerpoint® Index Page to jump to the given letter/number.

4.  Multiple Database Access: Allows users to install more than one Database and switch back-and-forth between the Databases without leaving the DataViewer program.

5.  Infrared Beaming: Beam the DataViewer application, freeware and demoware Databases, and individual Database Details Pages or Footnote Lookup Records to your friends and colleagues.

6.  Database Deletion: Delete individual Databases without having to delete the entire DataViewer program.

7.  Footnote Lookup: Links to Footnotes are on Database Details Pages. Tap on a Footnote and a pop-up window appears explaining the Footnote, but keeps your place in the text field window.

8.  Tap & Add: Links to Calendar Dates are on Database Details Pages. Tap on a Date to automatically add it to your handheld's calendar.

9.  Tap & Dial: Links to Phone Numbers are on Database Details Pages. Tap on a Number to auto-dial on your Palm OS® Smartphone.

10.  Email & URL Hyperlinks: Email and website addresses are hot for handheld users with email and/or Internet capabilities.

11.  Storage Card Compatibility: Run Databases off of Palm's™ MMC expansion cards and SD cards, Handspring's™ Springboard modules and compact flash cards, and Sony's memory sticks.
